The Giza Plateau is one of the most iconic and mysterious archaeological landscapes in the world. Rising from the edge of the Sahara near modern Cairo, the plateau served as a sacred royal necropolis during the Fourth Dynasty and remains one of humanity's greatest architectural achievements.

The site is dominated by the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, accompanied by temples, ceremonial causeways, satellite pyramids, and the enigmatic Great Sphinx. Together, these monuments reflect an extraordinary mastery of engineering, astronomy, sacred geometry, and spiritual symbolism.

Carved from a single mass of limestone, the Sphinx combines the body of a lion with the head of a pharaoh, symbolizing divine wisdom, strength, and guardianship. Standing within the enclosure is a privileged setting few visitors ever experience, allowing unparalleled views and photography.

Saqqara is one of Egypt's oldest and most sacred archaeological sites, serving as the vast necropolis of the ancient capital of Memphis for thousands of years.

It is most famous for the Step Pyramid of Djoser — the world's first monumental stone pyramid — designed by the legendary architect Imhotep during the Third Dynasty.

Beyond the Step Pyramid, Saqqara contains an extraordinary network of temples, tombs, underground chambers, and sacred passageways that reveal the evolution of ancient Egyptian religion, burial tradition, and architectural mastery.

The Hanging Church, known in Arabic as Al-Mu'allaqah, is one of the oldest and most revered Christian churches in Egypt. Located within Old Cairo near the ancient Roman fortress of Babylon, it derives its name from its construction above the fortress gatehouse, giving the appearance that it is suspended in the air.

Dating primarily from the 7th century though built upon earlier foundations, the Hanging Church became one of the most important centers of the Coptic Orthodox Church and served for centuries as the residence of the Coptic Patriarch. Its architecture reflects a remarkable blending of early Christian, Byzantine, and Egyptian artistic traditions.

Visitors ascend a series of stone steps into a serene sanctuary adorned with intricate wooden ceilings resembling Noah's Ark, marble pulpits, gilded icons, hanging lamps, and carved screens of ebony and ivory. The church houses more than one hundred sacred icons, some over a thousand years old.

Built within the shadows of ancient Roman walls and surrounded by the layered civilizations of Egypt, it represents the survival of one of the world's oldest Christian communities.

This morning we fly south to Luxor, check into our hotel, and take lunch before entering one of the largest and most awe-inspiring sacred sites ever constructed.

The Temple Complex of Karnak was developed over more than two thousand years by generations of pharaohs and served as the spiritual heart of ancient Egypt. Dedicated primarily to Amun-Ra, king of the gods, Karnak contains a vast network of colossal pylons, towering obelisks, sacred lakes, hidden sanctuaries, and intricately carved halls. Its most famous feature, the Great Hypostyle Hall, contains 134 massive columns.

Private Sekhmet Visit — Two Hours

Within the sacred precincts of Karnak we encounter the powerful black granite statues of Sekhmet, Goddess of Healing and Transformation, in a private two-hour visit.

For initiates and travelers alike, Karnak represents far more than a temple. It is a monumental expression of sacred geometry, cosmic symbolism, and divine kingship.

Abydos is one of the most sacred and mysterious sites in all of Egypt, revered for thousands of years as the spiritual center of the cult of Osiris, god of resurrection and the afterlife.

The site is best known for the magnificent Temple of Seti I, renowned for its beautifully preserved carvings, intricate symbolism, and the famous Abydos King List, which records the names of ancient pharaohs.

The Osirion

Hidden behind the Temple of Seti I lies the enigmatic Osirion, a massive megalithic structure associated with the resurrection mysteries of Osiris. Its massive granite blocks and symbolic waterways have inspired generations of researchers and initiates.

The Om Seti Room

A rare visit to the room dedicated to the remarkable Egyptologist Dorothy Eady, known as Om Seti, whose lifelong connection to Abydos and profound knowledge of ancient Egyptian tradition continue to inspire seekers around the world.

After lunch at Lifehouse, we continue to Dendera Temple. For many visitors, Abydos possesses a uniquely powerful atmosphere — a place deeply connected to themes of initiation, transformation, and spiritual rebirth.

The Valley of the Kings is one of the most legendary archaeological sites in the world, serving as the royal burial ground of Egypt's New Kingdom pharaohs. Hidden within the desert cliffs on the west bank of Luxor, the valley contains the tombs of some of ancient Egypt's greatest rulers, including Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramesses II.

Carved deep into the mountains, the tombs were designed as sacred passageways into the afterlife, filled with elaborate hieroglyphs, celestial imagery, and spiritual texts intended to guide the soul through the underworld and into eternal rebirth.

Luxor Temple stands majestically on the east bank of the Nile in the heart of ancient Thebes. Unlike many Egyptian temples dedicated solely to a particular deity, Luxor Temple was devoted to the sacred renewal of kingship and played a central role in the spiritual and ceremonial life of ancient Egypt.

Constructed primarily during the reign of Amenhotep III and later expanded by Ramesses II, the temple is renowned for its towering columns, colossal statues, grand courtyards, and beautifully preserved hieroglyphic carvings. Illuminated at night, it possesses an extraordinary atmosphere that evokes the grandeur and mystery of the ancient world.

Luxor Temple was connected to Karnak by the famous Avenue of the Sphinxes, a ceremonial pathway used during the annual Opet Festival, where rituals celebrating divine kingship, rebirth, and cosmic harmony were performed.

The Temple of Horus at Edfu is one of the best preserved temples in all of Egypt and stands as a magnificent tribute to Horus, the falcon-headed god of kingship, protection, and divine victory. Located along the Nile between Luxor and Aswan, it was constructed during the Ptolemaic period.

Entering through its massive pylons adorned with scenes of pharaohs and gods, we encounter towering columns, ceremonial halls, hidden chambers, and beautifully preserved hieroglyphic inscriptions that recount the mythic battles between Horus and Set — the eternal struggle between order and chaos.

The temple was a major center of ritual and pilgrimage, where sacred ceremonies honoring Horus were performed by the priesthood. Its walls preserve invaluable knowledge concerning temple rites, cosmology, offerings, and ancient spiritual tradition.

Edfu allows visitors to walk through a nearly intact sanctuary where the grandeur, symbolism, and sacred atmosphere of ancient Egypt remain vividly alive.

The Temple of Isis at Philae is one of Egypt's most beautiful and spiritually significant temples, dedicated to Isis, goddess of magic, healing, motherhood, and divine wisdom. Situated upon the sacred island of Philae near Aswan, it was a major center of pilgrimage and worship for centuries and remained active long after many other ancient Egyptian temples had closed.

Its walls depict the legendary story of Isis and Osiris, the resurrection mysteries, and sacred rites connected to divine rebirth and protection. Following the construction of the Aswan High Dam, the temple complex was relocated stone by stone to nearby Agilkia Island in an extraordinary UNESCO preservation effort.

Elephantine Island — Two to Three Hours

One of the oldest continuously inhabited sacred sites in Egypt, Elephantine served for centuries as an important religious, cultural, and strategic center. The island was sacred to Khnum, the ram-headed creator god believed to control the Nile's flooding and shape humanity upon his divine potter's wheel. Temples to Khnum, Satet, and Anuket once stood here, forming a powerful spiritual triad connected to fertility, protection, and the sacred rhythms of the river.

We cruise toward Luxor, stopping at the Temple of Kom Ombo, a unique double temple on the banks of the Nile between Edfu and Aswan.

Dedicated jointly to Horus the Elder, the falcon-headed god of protection and kingship, and Sobek, the crocodile-headed god associated with the Nile, fertility, and primordial power, the temple reflects the balance of opposing yet complementary forces within ancient Egyptian spirituality.

Built during the Ptolemaic period, Kom Ombo is renowned for its symmetrical design, featuring twin entrances, halls, sanctuaries, and shrines dedicated to each deity. Its walls contain beautifully preserved carvings depicting sacred rituals, astronomical imagery, surgical instruments, and scenes of divine offerings.

Nearby, visitors may also explore the Crocodile Museum, which houses mummified crocodiles once revered as sacred manifestations of Sobek.

We fly to Cairo and check into our hotel before visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Located near the Giza Pyramids, the GEM is one of the largest and most anticipated archaeological museums in the world, housing thousands of priceless artifacts spanning over five thousand years of history.

Among its greatest highlights is the complete collection of treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun, many displayed together for the first time. Visitors are also welcomed by the colossal statue of Ramesses II and vast galleries filled with monumental statues, sacred relics, royal mummies, and beautifully preserved antiquities from Egypt's dynastic past.

Blending modern architectural design with the timeless grandeur of ancient Egypt and situated within sight of the Great Pyramids, the museum serves as a bridge between Egypt's ancient wonders and its enduring cultural heritage.

The culmination of the expedition: four hours inside the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Built for Pharaoh Khufu over 4,500 years ago, the Great Pyramid is the oldest and only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World. Rising from the Giza Plateau with extraordinary precision and monumental scale, it has long inspired fascination, mystery, and spiritual contemplation.

Deep within the structure lie three primary chambers, each carrying profound historical and symbolic significance:

• The Subterranean Chamber — carved beneath the bedrock, it remains one of the pyramid's greatest enigmas • The Queen's Chamber — located at the heart of the structure, aligned with remarkable geometric precision and associated by many researchers with sacred and initiatory symbolism • The King's Chamber — constructed of massive granite blocks and housing the empty granite sarcophagus traditionally associated with Khufu
